And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new.
And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.

All things new??
(By: Pastor L.R. Simas, Sr.)
01-01-08
Christmas has passed and the New Year is here. What will you
do with this one?? One thing for sure is to take a look back at
what was and ask yourself, was last year a good one?? If so
what was so good about it?? If last year was not a good one,
then this letter is for you.
William Edward Hickson (1803-1870) a British educator, once
said "if at first you don't succeed, Try, try again."  I quite agree
with Mr. Hickson. We have not been given a limitless lifetime
and one should take time to reflect on one's life. I have done so
and came to believe that for me, and I pray for you too, that
while no one can predict the future we have some things we can
(and should) change.
Have you tried to make changes in your life only to have old
habits return?? I know that I have!! How then can we make
changes that need to be and make them stick?? Let’s have a look
at the only source that counts. The Bible!
We see in our verse above John sees and hears the words of Him
that sits on the throne saying; "Behold, I make all things new"
would you like to be new?? In the manner as our great God has
stated??
We have learned that God sent His only begotten Son into the
world that by believing in Jesus, His death, burial, and
resurrection we can be saved. We have had the opportunity to act
on the promise that Jesus proclaimed and will continue to until
or unless we run out of tomorrows.
While people the world over will make all sorts of promises to
change whatever it is that is their desire. We have a chance to
change our future and forever too!! We (the people of the world)
have two possible futures.
The one we truly deserve and the one that Jesus gave His life for.
One is heaven and the other is not! The one that is not in heaven
is a place that Bible calls " ...a place of torment (Luke 16:28)".
Jesus called "
outer darkness" three times in Matthew 8:12, 22:13
and 25:30.
The one that is not the place we deserve or heaven is a place God
describes " And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes;
and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying,
neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are
passed away. (Revelation 21:4)".
There, you have a brief description of each place of future
residence. The ultimate choice is yours and yours alone. As this
New Year begins, instead of making empty promises, and or
resolving to make changes, make the one change that will count
forever!
All things can be new, how?? By making a promise to yourself,
accept the gift that is Jesus. Become new and heaven will be
waiting to welcome you!! Jesus died for you, will you live for
Him??

in Christ, whose servant I am and yours,
