Welcome to Hyannis Baptist Church!
Where The Truth Shall Make You Free!!
Dear Mr. President,
I don't often try to reach the most important man in the United States of
America, however, as a citizen and great lover of this country I felt
compelled to at least try.
Mr. President, I often heard you refer to yourself as a Christian. I trust
this is true?? If it is (as I believe it to be) then we can at least talk
brother to brother. I know that you have many more important things to
tend to than to read this letter. I do pray of God that you will
nevertheless.
I'm sure that you get many such letters and most probably by the bag
fulls. So why should you read this one?? Because Mr. President, I believe
this one is blessed of God.
I think as Christians (as we confess to be), we should listen to God and
what He has to say, don't You?? Good, then we agree. God has said
(maybe not in these exact words) that we are our brother's keeper. I
take this to mean that we should see to the care of the less fortunate.
As a nation Mr. President, we offer (and give) aid to many nations and not
all are Christian. I remember hearing someone say, "Charity begins at
home". God gave us His son Jesus, and He said to "love one another as I
have loved you". Mr. President, that was a tall order then and I believe it
is a tall  order today, too. With the state the country is in and the world
we live in as of late, it is not as good as it could be. Something needs to
be done. I know that you, Mr. President, can't solve the world's problems
just by waving your hand. However, I truly believe that you can help solve
a few of our country's. The Word of God says, "Therefore to him that
knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin." (James 4:17) Mr
President, you don't need me reminding you of what needs to be done. You
spent a lot of time studying God's words, I'm sure. All I'm trying to do is
appeal to one that has the blessings of God and has been granted power to
make the changes that (at least) to this servant seem right and good.
I'm sure you are well aware of the folks that are in greater need than
either of us. I pray of you, Mr. President, to be a doer of God's words
and not just a hearer. You can (if you will) speak to the right people and
maybe by power granted you by the high office you hold, command the
folks to help those in great need of what we would give a nation in a
similar position.
Mr. President, our unemployed are not just the young that don't want to
work nor are they the older folks that don't want to work. Mr. President,
our unemployed are just that! Unemployed! Not by choice and not because it
is their will. No, Mr. President, our unemployed are (for the most part)
unemployed because of the state of the conditions in which we live. You,
Sir have tried to provide health care for us and I'm sure most folks are
grateful. Now our brothers and sisters and regular folks are calling for
help to (in some cases) exist and to live with the dignity that being a
United States citizen affords such and one. I pray that this arrives in
time that these good (and maybe not so good) folks can once again believe
in what the hand of God can do when used by a God fearing and loving man.
You, Mr. President are that man! I pray that God allows this to reach you
and that this touches your heart. I pray that it causes you to change that
which can be. And it brings relief and belief in God, you, and our great
nation once again. Lastly, Mr. President, thank you for hearing this God's
humble servant and may we once again be the UNITED STATES of
AMERICA. One nation under God, with liberty, and justice for all!!
With great respect and pride in our nation and your abilities, may the hand
of God be upon you and yours.
